Katie Hepworth is an artist and cultural geographer with a background in architecture and urban studies. She was awarded her PhD in 2012 (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UTS) and her current research is looking at the intersections between migration, colonization, borders and sovereignty. She is currently a researcher with the Centre for Cultural Research, University of Western Sydney working with Professor Brett Neilson and Professor Ned Rossiter on the Australian Research Council funded project Culture in Transition: Creative Labour and Social Mobilities in the Asian Century. Katie is a member of arts gang boat-people.org.
