Sumugan Sivanesan’s practice encompasses curatorial projects, texts, performance lectures, videos and music to discuss histories of anticolonialism, citizenship and the subjective body. Recently he has produced work for Momentum/Berlin (2012), Yautepec Gallery (Mexico City 2011), 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art (Sydney 2010–11), OK Video Festival (Jakarta, Indonesia 2009), Filmer la Musique (France 2009), Gang Festival, (Sydney–Indonesia 2006, 2008). He is part of the experimental documentary collective theweathergroup_U who formed for the Biennale of Sydney (2008), and the activist media/art gang boat-people.org.
