“Baadlands: an Atlas of Experimental Cartography brings together a series of projects that use mapping as a way of revealing, challenging or engaging with the politics of space in a globalised world. The exhibition focuses on a series of undeveloped, unused or secret locations that often appear as empty or blank spots on conventional maps. Probing beyond this opaque exterior the exhibition invites viewers to consider new ways of seeing and thinking about the space we live in.”
Yurt Empire crew are currently working towards an exhibition at Tin Sheds Gallery as part of an international group show called Baadlands curated by Zanny Begg. It opens on the 1st of August.
We are using the exhibition space to showcase a number of tactical iterations of our site brokering process which we are currently engaged in as the third of seven stages of development in this work.
We look forward to seeing you there!
